We are back with another one of our beautiful Marrime Brides, with her beautiful story to share. Our Marrime Bride Joanne and her now Husband Gary kindly shared with us their magical wedding journey and we simply couldn’t wait to share it with you all!
Starting right from the beginning
Here at Marrime we absolutely love all of the details, the more the better so being able to get a true visual of your bridal journey is truly amazing for us! “Gary and I got engaged on the day after valentines, just to be a little bit more original! We were on a lovely little trip to Iceland, in Reykjavik, and we had been on a day tour of the Gullfoss waterfall, and Þingvellir National Park. He’d been nervous all day, and I wasn’t quite sure why. The sun was beginning to set as we were down on the waterfront, and Gary got on one knee in the snow and ice and popped the question”. The Newly engaged couple then had a lovely passer-by take some photographs for them to help them remember the moment! Followed by some coffee and pastries to both celebrate and warm themselves up!. “The ring is so magical, it is an oval-shaped lab-grown sapphire, from a great company called brilliant earth! The colour of the stone is absolutely gorgeous, and it is totally perfect for me.”
We as a team are always interested to see how you find us, whether that’s through friends and family who have had their Bridal Journey with us or just simply by passing through Jesmond! “It was a bit of everything; the Jess gown was featured in a Bridal Magazine I picked up at a bridal fayre at St James Park. What really helped about Marrime was the displaying of prices on the website, not a lot of websites do that, so it was a really good help to get an idea of the price ranges of dresses before trying them on”!
When coming to visit us we want you to feel all of the amazing emotions, We always strive to create the most warm and welcoming environment for all Brides and members of their Bridal party who come through our door! Joanne told us all about her appointment and just how special it was to her “My first appointment was at your previous studio, which was so lovely! I was at the very beginning of my journey, and my experience was brilliant – so welcoming! I brought my mum, so it would be a special moment for both of us! My bridal party joined me for the dress fitting, but for picking it out, I just wanted it to be me and her”.
At Marrime we always try to give you the best start in your Bridal Journey, we do this by asking you to choose your top five gorgeous gowns off of our Bridal website. This not only gives you a chance to look through all of our dresses but also allows your personal stylist to get an idea of what styles and ideas you feel like you may love! “At the appointment, all of the pre-selected dresses were ready for me to try, so I tried on five dresses at my appointment. Cheri and Honey really help you to feel at ease, they know the dresses, and what they’re talking about – trust the experts, they really know best”. We always want to make your experience as seamless as possible, helping you navigate through any issues or emotions you may be feeling, and a nice way to initially do this is by looking through our website which is exactly what our Beautiful Joanne did! “One of the really cool things about Marrime is being able to have a look through the website and choose things that will definitely be within your budget, before potentially trying something on that is absolutely out of budget! I thought I knew initially what I wanted, but had an open mind about what I tried on, which I am grateful for. In fact, what I chose was the complete opposite of what I thought I would go for in the beginning”.
Finding the “one” is always a very special moment and all of our team feel exceptionally lucky to be able to be a part of that moment with you! When talking with Joanne she shared how she felt in the moment when she decided the Beautiful “Jess” By Eva Lendel was going to be her dream wedding dress. “Firstly, it’s okay to laugh if a dress isn’t quite right for you. When I found the one, I knew immediately – it’s the feeling, and it’s how you hold yourself when you’re wearing the right one. it’s not necessarily all about you and those around you shedding a few tears, I just felt really happy in the dress, and it was different to the others I’d tried on. I did not buy the dress immediately, and it’s also okay to take some time to think and reflect, especially if you have any other shopping appointments booked, I had a dress in mind that I thought was going to be it for me, but I just didn’t have the same feeling when I tried that on the day after. So, I was back two days later to put the order in for my perfect dress”.
As much as your spectacular gown will be the star of the show, Bridal Accessories are also an important part of making you feel extra special and styled to perfection for your Wedding Day. Joanne talked us through her Accessory choices for her beautiful wedding at Le Petit Chateau “For the big day, the dress really spoke for itself. I tried on a few veils, and it took a spectacular veil to compliment the dress, not compete with it. I went with a satin-edged cathedral length, which looked absolutely perfect with the length of the overskirt. My accessories were simple, as that was what really ‘fit’ for me, my ‘something borrowed’ was my mum’s tennis bracelet, and a simple necklace was the only other accessory! I should say that I got my shoes before the dress, I knew from the beginning about the shoes, and they complimented the dress perfectly. I did not have a second dress to change into, but did switch up my look by simply taking off the overskirt – such a good idea, and more like a two for the price of one”.
