Made To Order Terms
At Marrime, we offer an online Made to Order service for brides who would like a new gown ordered specifically for them in their chosen designer size.
Made to Order gowns are produced by our designers once your order has been confirmed and are created to match the closest standard size on the designer’s size chart.
As Made to Order pieces are crafted especially for you, we ask all brides to read the following terms carefully before placing an order.
1. What Made To Order Means
Made to Order gowns are ordered into production once we have confirmed:
- Your selected style and colour (if applicable)
- Your chosen size (based on the designer’s size chart)
- Any relevant notes (for example split sizing or priority/rush request, where applicable)
- Your event date and required timeline
Your dress is then made by the designer’s production team and undergoes quality checks before arriving with us.
2. Our Process
We aim to make the Made to Order process as smooth and supported as possible.
In-store appointments
We welcome brides into our Marrime boutique for a relaxed, one-to-one appointment with a professional stylist. If you proceed with Made to Order, your stylist will:
- take your measurements
- discuss lead times, delivery expectations and alteration requirements
Ordering without an appointment
If you order Made to Order without an in-store appointment, you will be required to supply your measurements. We strongly recommend having measurements taken professionally to ensure accuracy. If you are based overseas, you are welcome to book a virtual appointment.
3. Sizing & Measurements
Made to Order dresses are produced according to the designer’s standard size chart and are not made to your exact body measurements as a custom couture service.
Your dress size will be selected using the measurements provided and confirmed by email once your order has been processed.
Where measurements fall between sizes, we will advise the most suitable size based on the designer’s sizing and the best overall fit.
If your measurements fall across multiple sizes (for example, different bust, waist and hip sizes), split sizing may be available for some designers at an additional cost. This is subject to designer approval and cannot be guaranteed.
Please note that even with accurate sizing, most brides will still require alterations to achieve a perfect fit.
4. Alterations
Made to Order gowns are produced to standard sizing. Because every body is unique, alterations are usually required once your dress arrives.
Alterations may include (but are not limited to):
- taking in/out at the bust, waist or hips
- hemming the length
- strap or sleeve adjustments
- additional support or structure
Alterations are not included in the price of your dress and should be budgeted for separately. We are happy to recommend trusted seamstresses.
5. Lead Times
Made to Order lead times vary depending on the designer, season and production capacity and are estimates only.
If you have a specific date, please tell us before ordering so we can confirm whether Made to Order is suitable for your timeline. Priority or rush options may be available for some designers at an additional cost, subject to availability.
6. Changes After Ordering
Once your Made to Order has been confirmed with the designer and production has begun, the following changes are not possible:
- style changes
- fabric/colour changes
- size changes
- cancellations
For this reason, we strongly encourage brides to be confident in their selection before placing an order. If you believe your measurements may change between ordering and delivery, please discuss this with our team before confirming your order.
7. Payment Terms
Made to Order gowns must be paid in line with Marrime’s ordering terms. Once payment is taken and your order is placed with the designer, production begins.
Payments for Made to Order items are non-refundable once the order has been submitted to the designer and production has commenced, except where required by law.
8. Cancellations, Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
As Made to Order dresses are created specifically for you, we do not offer returns, refunds or exchanges for change of mind once your order has been submitted to the designer and production has begun.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- change of mind
- wedding date changes
- preference changes once the dress arrives
- alteration requirements
- incorrect measurements provided by the customer
Online/Distance orders: Customers who purchase online may have a right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations before production begins. Where the item is treated as “made to the consumer’s specification” or personalised, the 14-day cancellation right may not apply once production has started. We will confirm your order timeline (and whether production has begun) when your order is placed. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
9. Faults & Quality Issues
All gowns are checked on arrival. If you believe your item has arrived with a fault, you must contact Marrime within 48 hours of receiving your gown (or within 48 hours of collection) with clear photos and details.
We will liaise with the designer on your behalf and advise the appropriate next steps based on the designer’s fault process.
Please note: minor finishing elements, natural fabric variation, or expected alteration needs are not considered faults.
This faults process is in addition to, and does not replace, your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
10. Delivery & Collection
Made to Order gowns can be:
- collected from Marrime, or
- shipped (UK / International depending on service availability)
Delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed. Marrime cannot be held responsible for delays caused by external production or courier networks, though we will always support you and keep you updated.
11. International Orders
We proudly support brides worldwide and can facilitate Made to Order gowns for international customers.
International orders may be subject to:
- additional shipping charges
- duties, import taxes and customs fees (payable by the customer)
- longer delivery timelines depending on location
Marrime is not responsible for customs delays or additional fees imposed by your country.
