Was it all a dream?
The Dorchester. Champagne before the show. Charlotte Tilbury artists backstage. And, beyond the ballroom doors, Suzanne Neville’s next chapter waiting to be revealed.
•
This was ICON 35 — Suzanne Neville’s 35th anniversary collection and a celebration of more than three decades of British bridal design.
•
We were invited to London to experience the collection first-hand, joining Suzanne and her team at The Dorchester for an afternoon that felt every bit as considered as the gowns we had come to see.
Before the catwalk
There is something particularly special about seeing a collection for the first time.
Before the show began, Suzanne personally welcomed us for champagne and light bites, giving us time to take in the setting, catch up and enjoy those final moments before the doors opened.
Backstage, Charlotte Tilbury makeup artists were preparing the models, completing the beauty direction for the show while the collection itself waited just out of sight.
Then it was time to take our seats.
ICON 35 made its entrance.
35 years, refined
What followed did not feel like a retrospective.
Instead, ICON 35 felt assured and forward-looking — a collection that draws on the signatures Suzanne Neville has refined throughout her career while continuing to move them forward.
Sculpted bodices met softened proportions. Lace appeared with restraint. Clean fabrics allowed cut and construction to take the lead. Across the runway there was structure, movement and an understanding of the female form that has become intrinsic to the Suzanne Neville name.
For more than three decades, the house has become particularly recognised for its corsetry, precision pattern cutting and gowns created within its British couture tradition. Marrime's existing Suzanne Neville edit reflects that same balance of structure, fit and modern femininity.
There is a confidence to these gowns that does not rely on excess.
A neckline can become the statement.
The position of a waist can completely change a silhouette.
The movement of a skirt can give an otherwise minimal gown its presence.
ICON 35 understands the impact of those details.
The fabric tells its own story
Fabric has always been central to Suzanne Neville's design language.
The house works with luxurious silks, satins and laces sourced from across Europe, with fabrics selected from specialist suppliers in countries including Italy, France and Switzerland.
On the runway, that quality was immediately apparent.
There were fabrics with structure and volume, others designed to move fluidly with the body, and intricate lace bringing texture without overwhelming the silhouette.
But it was after the catwalk that we were able to appreciate those details properly.
After the runway
Following the show, we moved into The Dorchester ballroom for a closer viewing of the collection.
This is where beautiful gowns become buying decisions.
Up close, the conversation changes.
You notice the weight and handle of a fabric. The placement of lace. The internal structure of a bodice. The way a seam has been positioned to shape the body. The precision behind a gown that might, at first glance, appear beautifully simple.
It is also where we begin thinking about Marrime.
What feels new within our collection?
Which silhouette offers something our brides have not seen before?
How will a gown sit alongside the designers and styles already in our boutique?
And, perhaps most importantly, which pieces do we believe our brides need to experience for themselves?
For us, buying a collection is never simply about selecting the most dramatic gowns in the room.
It is about building a considered edit.
The Marrime ICON 35 edit
From ICON 35, we selected Almira, Avelisse, Fleurisse, Linnea, Lorento, Maristelle, Saphira and Soraya, alongside the Avelisse Top.
•
Each brings something different to the Marrime collection.
•
For Fleurisse, we chose Plain Smooth Mikado — allowing the silhouette, construction and purity of the fabric to become the focus.
•
Together, the gowns create an ICON 35 edit that moves between structure and softness, clean bridal and intricate detail, while remaining unmistakably Suzanne Neville.
•
It is a collection we cannot wait to begin styling.
ICON 35 arrives at Marrime this December
Our new Suzanne Neville ICON 35 wedding dresses are due to arrive at Marrime in December 2026, ready for brides planning their 2027 weddings to discover.
And seeing the collection at The Dorchester only reinforced something we have long admired about Suzanne Neville.
Her gowns may begin with fabric, corsetry and construction, but the finished effect never feels technical.
It feels instinctive.
Refined, but never overworked.
Romantic, without becoming overly sweet.
Structured, but always designed to move with the woman wearing it.
That balance is what makes Suzanne Neville such an important part of the Marrime collection.
For our 2027 brides
As the afternoon at The Dorchester came to an end, we had seen the collection on the runway, explored the gowns at close quarters and selected the pieces that would become part of Marrime's next chapter.
•
A beautifully curated collection.
•
An extraordinary setting.
•
And 35 years of British bridal design viewed through a thoroughly modern lens.
•
So, was it all a dream?
•
Perhaps it simply felt like one.
