Set within the Oxfordshire countryside, Jessica and Jason’s wedding at Caswell House brought together classic English character with a softly Tuscany-inspired vision. The setting offered everything they had been searching for: beautiful countryside, a sense of occasion and plenty of character, without ever feeling too formal.
・
A palette of whites and creams, romantic white florals and subtle black details kept the styling elegant and understated. Rather than over-styling the space, Jessica and Jason allowed the natural beauty of Caswell House to lead, layering in thoughtful details that made the day feel personal to them.
・
Jessica’s bridal look followed the same considered approach. She chose the Milla Nova Lancaster wedding dress, with its clean satin, structured corset, softly draped neckline and full A-line skirt, finishing her look with pearl details and the Marrime Brittany Pearl Veil.
・
Here, our beautiful Marrime bride shares more about finding Lancaster, the inspiration behind their wedding day and the moments she will remember most.
Tell us a little about your wedding at Caswell House, Oxfordshire. What made you choose this beautiful setting for your wedding day?
“We fell in love with Caswell House because it had everything we were looking for: beautiful countryside, a classic English country-house feel and so much character, without feeling too formal. We wanted a Tuscany-inspired feel to the day, and Caswell gave us the perfect backdrop for that. The Cotswolds also felt really special to us, and we loved the idea of having all of our favourite people together in a place that meant so much to us.”
Caswell House feels like such a natural setting for the day you envisioned. We love the balance between the English countryside and those softer Tuscan influences; elegant and romantic, while still feeling relaxed and completely personal to you both.
You chose the Milla Nova Lancaster. What was it about this gown that made you fall in love with her?
“I loved how timeless Lancaster felt. The clean satin, structured corset and beautiful draped neckline felt really elegant, but the flowing skirt and train gave it that romantic feel too. I wanted something classic and sophisticated that I would still love looking back at in years to come, and Lancaster just felt like me.”
・
That feeling of a gown simply feeling like you is always so important. Lancaster has such a beautiful balance of structure and softness; the clean satin gives her that timeless quality, while the draping and movement bring just the right amount of romance.
Was Lancaster what you originally imagined yourself wearing, or did she surprise you when you tried her on?
“She actually surprised me! I had an idea of what I thought I wanted, but Lancaster was quite different from some of the dresses I had initially pictured or tried on. I always imagined myself going for something more fitted; I hadn’t really considered a fuller, A-line skirt. As soon as I put her on, though, I loved how she made me feel. She had that feeling of being very bridal without being too much, which I loved!”
We love when a gown completely changes the picture a bride originally had in her mind. Being open to trying a different silhouette can create that unexpected moment, and Lancaster gave you exactly that: beautifully bridal, but still refined and effortless.
What was the moment you knew Lancaster was the one, and how did you feel when you realised you had found your wedding dress?
“It was really about how I felt in her. I remember looking in the mirror and feeling like I could instantly picture myself walking down the aisle. Everything just felt right, and I didn’t want to take her off! I think that was when I knew.”
・
Sometimes it really is that simple. When you stop analysing the dress and can suddenly picture yourself in the moment, it often says everything. We love that Lancaster gave you that instant sense of certainty.
Did you make any customisations or changes to your gown or bridal look to make it feel completely personal to you?
“Yes, I added MWL Bardot sleeves to Lancaster, which made the dress feel even more personal and the perfect match. I loved the way they softened the structured shape of my gown while still keeping it modern and elegant.”
・
This is such a beautiful example of styling transforming a gown without taking away from what made you fall in love with it. The softness of the sleeves against Lancaster’s more structured silhouette created such an elegant balance.
You styled Lancaster with the MWL Bride Crepe Cuffs and Marrime Pearl Veil. What inspired these choices, and how did you want your overall bridal look to feel?
“I wanted the overall look to feel elegant, timeless and understated. I loved the idea of bringing in pearls because they felt so classic and sentimental, and they worked beautifully with the clean satin of Lancaster. The pearl veil added that extra bridal detail without taking away from the simplicity of the dress. I wanted everything to feel very considered, but not overdone.”
We couldn’t agree more with that approach. The pearl detailing added interest and sentiment while still allowing Lancaster’s clean silhouette to remain the focus. Every element had a reason for being there, which is exactly what makes a bridal look feel so considered.
What was the inspiration behind your hair and makeup, and how did you want everything to complement your gown and the overall feel of the day?
“I wanted to look like the best version of myself, rather than feeling too made up. I chose soft Hollywood waves with natural, glowy makeup. With the simplicity of Lancaster, I felt that keeping my hair and makeup soft and polished would complement the dress perfectly.”
・
Soft, polished and still completely you. The Hollywood waves worked so beautifully with the elegance of Lancaster, while keeping the makeup fresh allowed the entire look to feel effortless rather than overly styled.
You described your wedding vision as classic, modern, simplistic but stylish. How did you bring this vision to life at Caswell House?
“We kept everything very neutral and timeless, with lots of whites, creams and subtle black details. We wanted the natural beauty of Caswell House to do a lot of the work, rather than over-styling it. The overall look was simple but with lots of little details that made it feel personal to us.”
・
There is something so effective about knowing when to let a beautiful venue speak for itself. The neutral palette and subtle black accents gave the day a modern edge while still complementing the traditional character of Caswell House.
You had a beautiful white floral vision with lots of roses and gypsophila. What inspired your flowers, colour palette and overall styling?
“The pearls were particularly special to me. I wore them throughout my bridal look, including my pearl veil, and they had a sentimental meaning for me because my grandma loved pearls. I also loved all the little details coming together, from the stationery and flowers to the styling of the tables. It was so special seeing all the things we had spent months planning finally become real.”
We absolutely love the meaning behind the pearls. Details become so much more special when there is a personal story attached to them, and carrying that connection to your grandma through your bridal look made the Pearl Veil an especially meaningful choice.
What was your favourite or most unforgettable moment from your wedding day?
“It’s so difficult to choose one, but walking down the aisle and seeing Jason waiting for me is something I’ll never forget. After all the planning, it suddenly felt very real. Having all of our favourite people there watching us get married made it incredibly special.”
・
After all of the months spent planning every detail, there is something incredibly special about the moment everything else falls away and you finally see the person you are there to marry. A memory that really does stay with you forever.
Looking back on the day, how did you feel when you finally saw everything come together, especially seeing yourself as a bride in Lancaster?
“It was honestly quite surreal. You spend so long imagining what the day will look and feel like, and then suddenly you’re standing there and it’s all real. Seeing everything come together exactly as we had imagined was amazing, but putting on Lancaster and finally seeing myself as a bride was definitely one of those moments I’ll never forget.”
・
This is one of our favourite parts of every Marrime bride’s story: seeing the gown that began in the fitting room become part of the wedding day itself. After all of the imagining, fittings and planning, finally seeing the complete look is such a special moment.
How did you first discover Marrime, and what made you choose us to be part of your bridal journey?
“I discovered Marrime while looking for a bridal boutique that had the kind of modern, elegant designers I was drawn to. From the moment I started looking at the collections, I loved the style and the whole feel of Marrime. It felt personal and special, rather than just being about finding a dress.”
That means so much to us. Marrime has always been about more than simply finding a beautiful gown; we want the entire experience to feel personal, considered and reflective of the individual bride standing in front of us.
What did you love most about your Marrime experience, from finding Lancaster to the journey of getting ready for your wedding day?
“I loved how personal the whole experience felt. Finding your wedding dress is such a special part of getting married. I’ll always remember the time spent with my mum trying on gowns and sharing those memories together. From finding Lancaster to seeing the final look come together with my veil and accessories, it made the whole experience feel really memorable. And, of course, getting to finally wear Lancaster on my wedding day was the perfect ending.”
・
We love knowing that those appointments became part of the memories you share with your mum. Watching a bridal look develop from the first gown appointment through to the finishing touches is such a privilege for us, and seeing Lancaster finally become part of your wedding day really was the perfect ending to that journey.
A Final Note from Marrime
Jessica and Jason’s wedding is such a beautiful reflection of the timeless, considered style they had envisioned. From the soft white florals and understated palette to the character of Caswell House, every detail felt connected without ever feeling overdone.
Jessica’s bridal look carried that same sense of intention. Lancaster’s clean satin and sculptural silhouette provided the timeless foundation she had hoped for, while the softer styling and pearl details made the finished look unmistakably personal. Most special of all was the sentiment behind those pearls and the connection they carried to Jessica’s grandma.
It was such a pleasure to be part of Jessica’s bridal journey, from those special appointments with her mum to seeing her complete vision come together for her and Jason’s beautiful wedding at Caswell House.
