From the moment we met the beautiful Catherine and began chatting about her bridal vision, we knew her wedding day would be something truly elegant and fun, and hearing all the details now, we were right! On Sunday 25th May 2025, she and her now-husband Michael celebrated not only their wedding but also their 16th anniversary at the stunning Charlton Hall Estate in Ellingham, surrounded by 120 of their nearest and dearest. The day unfolded as a vibrant, joy-filled celebration of love, perfectly capturing the spirit of the couple and the life they’ve built together.
🤍
Right from the start, it was clear that the pair's wedding would be the perfect balance of timeless elegance and personal charm. Every element, from her dream gown to the carefully curated details of the day, was brought together with so much thought and meaning. With the incredible Sarah Jean (@momentsbysarahjean) capturing candid, heartfelt moments on camera and videographer Ryan Lilburn (@Thelilburn) preserving the energy and emotion on film, every memory was beautifully documented, creating a true reflection of their personalities and love for each other.
🤍
Here, our gorgeous Marrime bride shares every detail from her unforgettable day, from the dress that stole her heart to the magical moments and joyful touches that made their wedding day uniquely theirs.
Which Marrime gown did you wear, and how did it find you?
“I wore Salacea. I saw it on socials just after I booked my appointment, and immediately requested it”.
There’s something so special about Salacea, the KYHA Bride gown speaks softly but with such presence. It’s no surprise it caught your eye straightaway.
Was it love at first sight — or a moment that surprised you?
“I had Salacea in mind straightaway, and knew that was my dress. I actually only picked 4 more to try out of necessity because it would be silly not to. I tried it on first and immediately knew it was for me. I can’t recall what any of the other 4 dresses I tried looked like now, it was Salacea front and center.”
🤍
It’s so often not about a dramatic reaction, but a quiet certainty, a feeling that this gown just fits the truest version of you. It speaks volumes that you couldn't remember the other gowns, that's when you truly know you've found that one special dress.
Did you make any bespoke edits or customisations to your gown or veil?
“I didn’t do anything other than alterations because the timeless simplicity of the dress was my focal point.”
🤍
Simplicity can be the most powerful statement. Salacea is designed to let her bride shine, and you truly did just that!
How did your dress influence the styling of your day?
“Our theme for the wedding was very bold, pinks, blues, reds and disco balls. So I wanted my gown to be as timeless, chic and elegant as possible with Michael in black tux to compliment me. I usually opt for bold colours, sequins, patterns and texture in the clothes I wear, and I wanted my wedding dress to stand out from this, and still look like me. Salacea, whilst timeless and elegant, is also unlike any other dresses I’ve seen, and I loved that I was still an individual in it.”
We adore this contrast, your day filled with colour and life, with a gown that projected such timeless elegance. That’s what makes Salacea so special, the minimalism is intentional, powerful, and unmistakably personal.
Describe how you felt wearing your gown
“I found the idea of trying on wedding dresses so overwhelming, but the team at Marrime helped put me at ease right away and encouraged me to trust my decision. It’s such a huge deal in any bride’s journey, and I just couldn’t imagine myself in a wedding dress, and looking as amazing as you see brides looking on their special day. Even in a gown that didn’t fit me perfectly yet, without my make up and hair done, I felt as glamorous as those brides on socials. So the entire day of wearing it, I felt amazing. Importantly though, I felt like me.”
🤍
Our hope for every bride is that she feels seen, supported, and fully herself. There’s something so special about your words, that even in those in-between moments, before your final fittings, you already felt like the most beautiful bride. That’s exactly how it should be.
Tell us about your veil, shoes, and accessories — were there any meaningful pieces?
“I went for a cathedral veil to tie in with my wish to have a classic and timeless look. However, I wanted my shoes to do the talking and went for Azalea Wang perspex shoes with gold accents and lots of bright gems all over them.”
Ethereal tradition meeting unapologetic fun. The veil gives romance, while those shoes allow a glimpse into your playful, vibrant spirit. The perfect balance of timeless and you.
Who created your hair and makeup look, and what was your brief to them?
“For hair I went with my trusted hair dresser of 4 years, Emily Asquith from Glitz and Glamour (instagram glitznglamourhair) because I needed someone who knew me inside out, who would keep me calm on the day and wouldn’t need much direction from me. We discussed what I wanted almost a year in advance, and that meant Emily could firmly tell me no when the urge to cut a fringe in every other month.”
🤍
“For make-up, I went with an ex-colleague of mine Olivia Charlton (instagram, oliviacharltonmakeup) who had recently branched into doing make up on her own after working in Fenwick for years. I actually had never had my make up done by Olivia. I loved her work on Instagram, but I chose her for her vibes alone. She’s so incredibly calming and sweet, I thought what better person to spend my wedding morning with. My trial with her in the October before the wedding solidified going with her for me. We had such a fun time chatting and the make up and the perfect glowy, smoky eye look she perfected sealed the deal.”
Did you change for the evening? If so, tell us about your second look.
“No change!”
🤍
A gown that carries you from ceremony to last dance, perfect!
Three words that capture the mood or style of your day
“Vibrant, timeless and joyful.”
🤍
The perfect trio. A celebration that radiates colour, yet balanced with elegance, definitely Salacea energy.
Was your wedding aesthetic inspired by fashion, travel, art, or anything personal?
“My husband is an artist, so he designed all of our stationery, meaning it was truly so personal to us. We’ve always loved music and dancing together, so disco balls were our go to (although they are having a popular moment in weddings at the moment in general!) and we love pops of pink, blue and red throughout our home. We didn’t want huge floral pieces so we had beautiful understated table and top table arrangements in this theme, with disco ball and tapered candles added. Our bridal flowers were simpler however, to tie in the classic and timeless dress, tux and black bridesmaids dresses- we went for white bouquets with lots of greenery.”
Artistic, joyful, and deeply personal! The kind of styling that feels like a reflection of your story, those subtle florals paired with bold tones sound like such a captivating contrast, we can only imagine how beautiful it all looked in real life!
Who was your florist, and what did they create for you?
“We used the wonderful Cat from The Whole Shebang for florals and decorations (instagram, the_whole_shebang). She and the team were absolutely incredible and we chatted in the morning when I was on a “get my nerves out” walk - super in control, knew the venue like the back of her hand. I was blown away by her work, and Michael and I getting our first walk through of the final product alone before all of our guests is a special memory for us.”
Any standout styling or décor moments you adored?
“We put a lot of focus on the evening, and our dog Martin. Our bridesmaids came out mid-evening with bumbags filled with whistles, glow sticks and giant Martin heads, and I’ve never seen a dancefloor get so full and remain so full. Little touches like this, without being too on the nose or tacky made our wedding so personal. It also really helped to make the change between day and night for our Guests.”
🤍
A joyful nod to your personalities, without ever losing the sense of style. We love when the night evolves into something spontaneous and joy-fuelled.
Your most unforgettable moment of the day
“During evening food service, just as the sun was setting our photographer Sarah spotted a double rainbow over the venue. We were on the dancefloor at the time, She grabbed Ryan, and told us to run. We got the most beautiful, unexpected pictures and videos, nothing like I’ve ever seen before. It captures our joy, the joy we felt with our loved ones all day and just how special the moments throughout the day were to us.”
Those unplanned, fleeting moments always become the heart of the story.
What advice would you give other brides planning now?
“Use people you trust, go with highly recommended suppliers, like Marrime, don't look for hairdressers that you’ve never met and won't meet until your trial, surround yourself with people who not only can create exactly what you are looking for but can make you feel good whilst doing it. You’re about to embark on a huge journey, it can be stressful and frustrating and more than anything you need people in your corner.”
Would you do anything differently?
“I wouldn't change a thing!”
Describe your Marrime experience in three words
“Warm, encouraging and special.”
🤍
That means everything to us. Creating a space where brides feel understood, uplifted, and celebrated, that’s what Marrime is all about.
What made you choose Marrime?
“I wanted timeless elegance, a place that understood current trends but didn't overdo them. Somewhere peaceful, not obnoxious with quiet luxury. Marrime was just that.”
You’ve captured our heart completely. Meaning behind every detail, it is exactly what we hope each and every bride finds here.
Are you/ have you been anywhere fabulous for your Honeymoon? We would love to know!
“We just returned from 2 weeks in Crete. We stayed in the 5 star Seaside Resort Hotel & Spa, which focuses on wellbeing, rest and de-stressing. Whilst we had a few months between wedding and honeymoon, we felt we needed a break from the wild stag and hens, and the wedding itself!”
🤍
The perfect post-wedding escape. Sunlight, sea, and stillness to let it all sink in, the most beautiful way to begin your next chapter together. A huge congratulations to both yourself and Michael from all of our Marrime team, we couldn't be more happy that you are a beautiful Marrime Bride!
