When we first met the beautiful Sophie and began chatting through her bridal vision, we had a feeling her wedding day would be something unforgettable. Set against the romantic, sun-drenched backdrop of Masseria Salamina in Puglia, she and her now-husband, Paul, tied the knot on 17th May 2025, surrounded by 85 of their closest friends and family.
🤍
From the very beginning, it was clear this wedding would perfectly balance elegance, intimacy, and an irresistible kind of joy. Every detail, from the gown to the florals to the Aperol-fuelled evening, came together with so much intention. Captured beautifully by Alex Gaidashev, this celebration was the perfect expression of timeless romance with a modern edge.
🤍
Here, our stunning Marrime bride shares all the details, from finding her dream dress to dancing the night away!
Which gown did you choose from Marrime and why?
“Davis by Kyha. I always loved their dresses. Everything always looks simple but elegant and chic.”
Davis by Kyha is such a stunning choice! There's something about the way Kyha manages to blend that clean, minimal aesthetic with just the right touch of elegance and edge. It’s effortlessly chic, and Davis really is one of those gowns that lets the bride shine. So timeless and so flattering.
What made you say yes to the dress?
“I only tried on four dresses in total and only at Marrime. The staff said I was the most efficient bride they’d ever had. There were so many amazing dresses…but I just felt myself in Davis.”
🤍
It's always so special when you have that moment of just feeling like yourself in a gown. That’s exactly what we hope for every bride, and Davis was clearly your dress. We love that it was such an easy yes.
How did your gown make you feel on the day?
“It will probably be the best I will ever look. Not sure if any bride can ask for more.”
🤍
The best response we could ever wish for as a team, this is exactly how we want you all to feel on your special day!
Tell us about your accessories – veil, shoes, jewellery, hair, makeup?
“The veil was Edith by Kyha. I wasn’t expecting to wear a veil over my face but it was lace-edged and felt right given we were getting married in Italy. My shoes were the Camellia sandals by Loeffler Randall – so comfy I wore them all day and night. For jewellery, I wore an emerald ring and matching necklace I was given on my 21st birthday and my ‘something borrowed’ was some diamond earrings from my best friend’s mum.”
Where did you find your bridal accessories? (Let us know if they were from Marrime!)
“All my jewellery I already had or borrowed but the shoes and veil were from Marrime!”
🤍
There’s something so special about weaving in meaningful pieces you already own or borrow from loved ones, and then finishing the look with those perfect final touches from Marrime. It’s always such a joy to help bring the whole bridal vision to life, right down to the details.
What was your hair and makeup brief?
“Half up, half down for my hair. Makeup was a soft glam with nude/pink tones.”
🤍
Just effortlessly beautiful! Really fits your overall look for your wonderful day.
Did you do an outfit change for the evening? If so, tell us everything.
“No second dress. I thought I would probably only wear this dress once, so I wanted to be in it all day and night.”
🤍
When you’ve found the dress, why not soak up every second in it?
What was your wedding day vibe?
“The venue wasn’t a typical whitewashed Puglian Masseria but it was very romantic. It was a lot closer to a traditional wedding venue than I thought I’d go for but we loved it. We balanced the tradition with simple, more modern décor – bud vases, simple place cards and menus, linen signage. You know the feeling when you’re having an Aperol in the sun with your best friends on holiday? We wanted that feeling all day.”
Tell us about the floral design – who was your florist and what was the vision?
“I wanted a whimsical design with soft colours – wildflowers with some peonies thrown in.
🤍
We had bud vases on the tables (for simplicity but also cost!). Our florist also did an amazing flower arch. Florist’s Instagram is @Angelofanizzifloraldesigner.”
Were there any standout décor elements or details that made your day feel really you?
“Our wedding planner, Thelma at Sona Weddings, did our ceremony. It was so personal to us and our relationship. Everyone kept saying it was the most authentic ceremony they’d been to.”
That sounds so incredibly special, there’s nothing quite like a ceremony that feels personal and truly reflects your relationship. Moments like that stay with you, and with everyone there.
Favourite moment from the day?
“Coming into the reception with all our friends and family waiting for us. It was a pure hoot.”
🤍
We love that you sound like you had the most fun-filled day!
Best piece of advice you’d give to other brides planning their wedding?
“Controversial but have a sweetheart table and don’t bother with evening guests.”
Anything you’d do differently?
“No, the things that inevitably went wrong don’t matter in the end.”
🤍
This is such an important reminder, no matter how much you plan, little things will always pop up… but when the day comes, they fade into the background. What really matters is the love and the people surrounding you!
What did you love most about your experience at Marrime?
“All the staff were the stand out for me! When I went to pick up my dress and try it on with a veil, I was not feeling too well. The lovely lady who was helping me was my actual saviour throughout and made me feel totally at ease and helped me in moments exactly when I needed.”
We love nothing more than being able to help you not only find your dream dress, but help you through all the moments in between on the run-up to your big day! Nothing makes us smile more than being a part of your wonderful bridal journeys. Sophie, you are a beautiful Marrime bride and we truly couldn't be happier for you!
