From the moment we met the beautiful Francine and began chatting about her bridal vision, we knew her wedding day would be something spectacular — and hearing all the details now, we knew we were right! On Saturday 21st June 2025, she and her now-husband Jamie tied the knot in the charming Holy Trinity Church at Embleton before continuing their celebrations in a stunning marquee set up in their family’s back garden — a true summer celebration! With 120 of their nearest and dearest gathered around them, the day unfolded as a heartfelt, joy-filled celebration of love, exactly how Francine wanted it to feel.
🤍
Right from the start, it was clear that Francine’s wedding would be the perfect balance of fun and personal charm. Every detail — from her dream gown to the joyful energy that filled the day — was brought together with so much thought and meaning. Captured beautifully by the wonderful Phoebe Lenderyou, the day felt like a true reflection of Francine and Jamie as a couple.
🤍
Here, our gorgeous Marrime bride shares every tiny detail from their wonderful wedding day, from the dress of her dreams to the unforgettable moments that made her day so uniquely hers.
Which gown did you choose from Marrime and why?
“Eva Lendel’s Lanvee. It was the first dress that didn’t feel like I was wearing a costume but still felt like a wow moment. I had tried on so many dresses and had flitted between bardot, bandeau, slim-fitting, big skirt and everything in between, and felt quite confused about the style I was looking for. Ultimately, I knew I wanted to feel elegant but still lean girly. I did quickly realise, though, that I wasn’t going to be a ‘cool’ or unfussy bride, and that I wanted to focus on feeling really feminine. From the start, however, I was convinced that I didn’t want anything intricate — no sparkles or lace. It’s almost laughable that I ended up with a fully beaded dress!”
Lanvee is such a showstopper and suits your vision perfectly! It’s so normal to start with one idea and end up somewhere totally unexpected, but that’s all part of the magic. The fact that you went from no detail to a fully beaded gown just proves how powerful the right dress can be. It sounds like you trusted your instincts beautifully — elegant, feminine, and still totally you.
What made you say yes to the dress?
“I had almost convinced myself that I was going to choose another Eva Lendel dress — Lika. It, too, is a beautiful strapless dress which I felt really comfortable in, but my mum had spotted Lanvee online (before realising it was another Eva Lendel!) and suggested I try it at my second Marrime fitting. After giving in to the fact that I liked a beaded dress, I realised very quickly that it was the most ‘me’ I’d felt — not that I spend a lot of time in floor-length gowns with massive bows on the back! I also loved that the overskirt could come off and gave me a second outfit without having to get changed, marking a real transition from church to garden wedding party.”
Did you make any customisations to your gown or accessories?
“No customisations!”
How did your gown make you feel on the day?
“I felt very special. Girly, but elegant. I felt comfortable with the design but excited to show everyone the fun of the bow and the intricate beading.”
🤍
That’s exactly how it should feel — special, elegant, and still playful in all the right ways. We love that the dress gave you that perfect mix of comfort and excitement. The bow and beading added such a fun element and it sounds like it really captured your personality beautifully. There’s nothing better than feeling completely yourself, just elevated for such a magical moment!
Did your bridal look evolve as you planned the rest of your wedding styling?
“Not hugely — I always knew I would be governed by my dress choice, which then impacted the bridesmaid dresses, my veil, jewellery, and my final hair and makeup styling decisions.”
🤍
This makes total sense. Once you found the dress, everything else naturally started to fall into place. It’s amazing how one decision can set the tone for the whole look! Letting the dress lead the way often creates such a beautifully cohesive and effortless style, and it sounds like you had a really clear sense of what felt right for you every step of the way.
Tell us about your accessories – veil, shoes, jewellery, hair, makeup.
“I chose a cathedral-length veil, also from Marrime, so the drama of the veil plus the overskirt’s bow made me dial back on the rest of my look (slightly!). I opted for a high half-updo, pulled off my face and tucked behind my shoulders. Jewellery was kept simple: drop diamond earrings from my mum, Angie, and a solitaire diamond necklace from my mother-in-law, Janet. I wore a diamond bracelet from Jamie, and my something blue/old/borrowed all in one was my mum’s aquamarine and pearl ring that she had worn on her own wedding day. My shoes were from Vita Grace and were a low enough heel that I could wear them all day, although they were not garden-safe and are now officially green! Makeup was always going to be bronzey and warm — even if it rained, I was going to be leaning into the summer wedding feel!”
Every detail sounds so beautifully considered and full of meaning. We absolutely love how you balanced the drama of the veil and bow with other more understated details. The sentimental jewellery from your mum, mother-in-law, and Jamie adds so much heart to your look. The now green-tinted shoes are just a sign of a well-celebrated day — something you can always look back on and remember how much fun you all had. It sounds like you pulled everything together with such intention and it all sounds so perfectly you.
Did you do an outfit change for the evening? If so, tell us everything.
“My overskirt meant that I already had a second ‘look’ which served as a great transition from day to night — and allowed me to dance without taking up half the floor — so no second outfit was necessary. My mum, however, did have a second dress — haha!”
🤍
That’s the beauty of a great overskirt: it gives you that perfect day-to-night transformation without needing a full outfit change! We love that your mum had a second dress — very fashion-forward of her!
How would you describe your overall wedding style/aesthetic in three words?
“Feminine, natural, summer.”
What was your wedding day vibe – minimalist, romantic, modern, playful, editorial, or something else?
“We really just wanted the most fun and personal day possible without taking anything too seriously. The fact it was in Jamie’s parents’ garden — where he grew up — made it instantly special, but we always knew we wanted to build on that feeling. Throughout the day we had lots of little touches to make the occasion feel like ‘us’ while showing our guests how much they mean to us as a couple. We used the champagne bottles we’d been gifted for our engagement as candle holders, writing the names of our friends who gave them to us onto the bottles, and placing them at their seats. We walked back down the aisle to Send Me On My Way, straight out of my favourite film, Matilda. Instead of matching pyjamas for my bridesmaids, I found vintage Ralph Lauren shirts in different shades of pink and had them embroidered with their initials as a keepsake. We had buckets of VKs in a personalised canoe that had been in my parents’ garage for the best part of 30 years — a nod to the sea and the Northumberland coastline, where we have both grown up and continue to love. We had Jamie’s Uncle Ian’s port that he and his wife Maureen laid down for Jamie the year he was born as part of Uncle Ian’s place setting. Then we did the fun extras too: personalised coasters, matchsticks, cocktail stirrers and a mirror to make everything ‘content worthy’! The feel of the day was personal, fun, and romantic.”
🤍
This honestly sounds like the dream balance of fun, personal, and totally you. Having the wedding in Jamie’s parents’ garden already gave it that beautifully sentimental foundation, but all those little touches just took it to another level. We love the idea of reusing your engagement champagne bottles as candle holders — what a thoughtful way to honour your friends. And the VK canoe is such a unique and fun touch! Every detail, from the emotional to the lighthearted, came together to create something truly special. You made the day not only romantic, but also completely reflective of your story, and your guests must have felt that love in every corner.
Were there any specific colours, textures or references that inspired your styling?
“Because the garden was already a beautiful backdrop, we didn’t plan to go too crazy on the styling and it really provided the inspiration itself. However, our parents really put their all into the garden and it became an even more beautiful setting — we didn’t need more than that. Bridesmaid dresses and floral choices were pink and warm peaches, aligning with the feminine feel.”
There’s nothing more special than letting a meaningful space speak for itself. The fact that your parents put so much love and care into the garden must’ve made it feel even more magical on the day. Sometimes the most beautiful settings are the ones that already hold memories. The warm pinks and peaches sound like they complemented the setting perfectly — soft, romantic, and in tune with that feminine, relaxed vibe you were going for.
Tell us about the floral design – who was your florist and what was the vision?
“Our florist was Pippa Brown from Flowercraft — another supplier who I went to school with, as well as Phoebe! — which made it even more special. Pippa was fantastic from the start and really understood our vision (even when we didn’t) and was so creative in suggesting elements which could be used across both the church and the marquee, including a beautiful meadow style which dressed the aisle up to the altar.”
🤍
We love that you were able to work with people from your own world — it brings such a personal, full-circle feel to the day. Having Pippa as your florist sounds like the perfect fit, and it’s amazing how she could take your ideas and bring them to life so beautifully. When your suppliers really “get” you, it just shows in every single detail.
Favourite moment from the day?
“All of it?! Being reunited at the front of the church with Jamie.”
Best piece of advice you’d give to other brides planning their wedding?
“Embrace any help you can get, remember why you’re getting married and don’t take it too seriously. Both Jamie and I like to be as organised as possible, so knowing every detail at every stage helped to make things calmer and easier for us both — knowledge is power and all that!”
A perfect reminder for any couple in the middle of planning! It’s so easy to get swept up in the details, but keeping your focus on why you’re getting married makes everything else feel lighter. We’re big fans of embracing help where you can and love that you and Jamie leaned into that.
Anything you’d do differently?
“One less canoe of VKs, perhaps?”
What did you love most about your experience at Marrime?
“The team and the shop itself make for such a calm and special experience when, inevitably, there are lots of emotions at play. The selection of dresses is so well curated that it makes one of the most important decisions feel a little easier, knowing that the dresses have been hand-picked with such expertise.”
