When we met Ellie and had the exciting initial chat about her Bridal vision, we knew her wedding was going to be something truly special. Set against the romantic backdrop of Middleton Lodge Estate in Richmond, North Yorkshire, Ellie and her now husband Bobby tied the knot on the 26th of May 2025, surrounded by 60 of their closest family and friends.
🤍
With every detail carefully considered, from the gown to the florals to the scent that filled the air, their day was a perfect reflection of their elegant, minimalist style, infused with warmth, joy, and just the right touch of playfulness.
🤍
Captured beautifully by Amy Katherine Photography, Ellie’s wedding story is one of modern romance with an editorial edge. Here, she shares every detail, from that moment she found her dress at Marrime to the final dance on their big day.

Which gown did you choose from Marrime and why?
"I wore a Kyha Bride Lucia Gown with the Wren Overskirt. My sister-in-law actually spotted it on Instagram and sent it to me, thinking I’d love it. She was right! I tried on six dresses in total at Marrime, saving this one for last”.
We can just imagine the excitement of keeping that one dress for the very end, the anticipation building with each try-on until you finally stepped into it. You know when you know!
What made you say yes to the dress?
“It felt most like me, timeless yet modern, with clean lines and an editorial edge. The moment I put it on, I knew it was the one”.
🤍
That “this is me” moment is something we hear about so often from our brides, and yet it’s always so personal and magical when it happens.
Did you make any customisations to your gown or accessories?
“No customisations, I loved it exactly as it was”.
🤍
Ultimately when you fall for a dress you will love every part about it, and this sounds like exactly what happened to Ellie!

How did your gown make you feel on the day?
‘Like a beautiful bride! The crisp, bright white really set the tone, and the overskirt floated so gracefully behind me all day. It felt incredibly special’.
We can just imagine how amazing you felt, that effortless swish of fabric following you through every hug, laugh, and twirl. We just know you felt just as magical as you looked!
Did your bridal look evolve alongside your wedding styling?
“Yes, they developed in parallel. From the start, I envisioned a modern, minimalist colour palette, my bridal look was simply an extension of that vision”.
🤍
It’s always lovely when the dress and the day are in conversation with each other from the very beginning! We love hearing your bridal visions from the moment you step through the doors of Marrime.

Tell us about your accessories – veil, shoes, jewellery, hair, makeup.
"I chose the Kyha Bride Sheath Veil, after trying on more veils than I’d like to admit! I’d always loved the idea of a face-covering moment for my aisle entrance, but I wanted something sleek without too much volume. My Marrime stylist suggested the Sheath Veil, and it was perfect. I also wore Ziva sleeves from the same designer, Manolo Blahnik Carolyn satin slingback pumps, and kept jewellery minimal with my engagement ring and Mejuri pearl drop earrings”
“For my hair I had a Sleek half-up, half-down, I wanted the softness of wearing my hair down without distracting from the clean lines of the dress. The makeup brief was Bronzed, sculpted, and glowy, with a nude lip”.
Every detail here feels so considered, everything working together to let the gown and our beautiful bride Ellie shine!
Did you do an outfit change for the evening?
No second dress, I wanted to enjoy every moment in my gown. But I did remove accessories as the day went on: veil off for the reception entrance, sleeves off before our first dance, and overskirt off after some dancing for a sleeker evening look.
🤍
We love the idea of a gown transforming with you through the day, subtle changes that make each part of the celebration feel fresh.
Describe your wedding style in three words.
“Elegant, minimalist, intimate”.
🤍
We couldn't have said it better ourselves!

What was your wedding day vibe?
‘Visually, minimalist, clean lines, natural light, a palette of white, neutral, and black. But emotionally, it was playful: personalised cocktails, close-up magic, an ice cream bike, a photobooth, a 7-piece band, and fireworks. Family was at the heart of it all, I did a first look with my dad, my two brothers and my bridesmaids: my best friend and two sisters-in-law. My Dad of course walked me down the aisle and did a wonderful speech, and Bobby’s Dad read a poem during the ceremony. We also chose our Mum’s as our witnesses, and Bobby’s brother was one of his best men, a real family affair!’
That balance between understated elegance and unfiltered joy is exactly what makes a wedding unforgettable.
Were there any specific colours, textures, or references that inspired you?
‘I’ve always been a big fan of editorial-style wedding aesthetics, taking inspiration from The Lane and various different Pinterest accounts. I wanted our wedding to feel like an extension of us; the neutral colour palette and different textures used on the day was an elevated version of our everyday style, our home is decorated in the same way”!
Tell us about the florals.
“Florals were really important to me; I think your florals and styling can play such a huge part in how your day looks. Our florist, Emma Cox Floristry, was absolutely incredible. The vision was clear – all white, romantic florals with a modern edge. Emma delivered this and more, from our ceremony earns and aisle florals through to our floral cloud and table styles. Everything was absolutely perfect. Special mention has to go to my bouquet, a culmination of all of my favourite flowers, not least my beloved peonies I’d loosely planned my wedding date around, to make sure they were in season. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful!
🤍
The floral cloud sounds like a scene straight out of a dream, and peonies in May? Perfection!

Any standout décor elements that felt especially you?
“The scent was huge for me. We used Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede candles throughout the venue, another nod to peony season. The scent was all consuming, in the best possible way and now any time we smell the same scent again we are immediately taken back to the day”.
“We’re also huge foodies, so food and drink were an important part of our day. We chose Bramble cocktails, a nod to the street we bought our first home on, with personalised cocktail stirrers. We had an incredibly aesthetic ice cream bicycle for during our drink’s reception – choosing all of our favourite flavours for our guests to enjoy. The canapes, three-course meal and evening food were all incredible too, there’s nothing like a beautiful piece of Yorkshire beef”!
And then there was the cake, Poppy Pickering Cakes created a masterpiece with flavours of Eton Mess, Salted Caramel, and Yorkshire Rhubarb & Ginger”.
We’re obsessing over that cake flavour combination, utterly indulgent.
Favourite moment from the day?
“Finally walking down the aisle after a two year build up and seeing my husband-to-be waiting for me was an incredibly special moment. On the flip side, as the night drew to a close, our family and close friends surrounded us in a circle and danced around us. I took the time to look at every single one of their faces – and the joy that was radiating from every single person made me feel like I was flying. I think about that moment a lot”!
🤍
It’s always those unplanned, joy-filled moments that you will hold in your heart forever. We are so happy you were able to take a mental snapshot of these moments in your mind!
Best piece of advice for other brides?
“Don’t get lost in the small stuff, easier said than done, I know. Keep the focus on what matters: marrying the love of your life”.
Anything you’d do differently?
“We planned to marry outside, but gale-force winds had other ideas. I stressed about the weather for weeks, but when it came to it, all I cared about was marrying Bobby”.
🤍
Proof that even when the plan changes, the magic doesn’t. Take every part of the day as it comes, we promise that the only thing that matters is you and your partner!

What did you love most about your Marrime experience?
“The Marrime space is so incredibly beautiful and everyone we came into contact with over the course of our appointments was so incredibly lovely. I particularly enjoyed my accessories appointment – bringing both my Mum (who was also with me when I chose my dress!) and my mother in law along. We were lucky enough to spend an afternoon trying on different veils, some with my hair up, some with my hair down, to get a feel for what I might want to choose. Nothing was too much trouble and it was the loveliest, bridal afternoon”!
